C.O.D. Deliveries

C.O.D. or Collect on Delivery is the shipment of goods by either FedEx or UPS, where the payment is made upon delivery. This service may include additional fees from the carrier. This service is only available in the U.S. for established current customers.

There are two types of C.O.D. payments:

C.O.D. Certified Funds

These are C.O.D. payments that can only be paid by certified check or money order. No personal or company checks will be accepted per the carrier requirements.

C.O.D. Company Check

This method allows you to pay the UPS or FedEx driver with a company check upon delivery (instead of certified check or money order). You must first be approved for terms with Honey’s Place before we can ship via C.O.D Company Check.

UPS and FedEx both require that C.O.D Certified Funds and C.O.D. Company Check be paid in the exact amount. Checks or money orders are to be made out to Honey’s Place. Cash, credit cards, and debit cards are not accepted as valid forms of payment for C.O.D. shipments. The carrier will attempt delivery three times for exact payment. After the third attempt, the carrier will mark the package as “refused” and the order will be returned to Honey’s Place. If an order is returned to Honey’s Place due to the customer not providing the C.O.D. funds to the carrier, they will be responsible for all freight charges due on the order and may be subject to a 20% restocking fee. If the customer would like Honey’s Place to reship the order, we will be happy to do so, the customer will be responsible for any new shipment charges incurred.

Dimensional Weight

As of December 28, 2015, UPS and FedEx changed their shipping guidelines, which impact the overall shipping cost. UPS and FedEx have moved to calculating freight costs based on dimensional weight, which takes into account the length, width, and height of a package.

UPS and FedEx shipping charges will be determined by actual weight or dimensional weight of a package, whichever is greater.

You can learn more about dimensional weight from UPS and FedEx at the following links below.

Third Party Shipping

Orders can be shipped using your own FedEx or UPS account. To enable this, please contact your Honey’s Place Account Manager with your carrier account number and we will take care of the rest.

Once this is activated on your account, your orders will automatically ship via your chosen carrier, with the freight charges applied to your third-party account. You will not be charged shipping by Honey’s Place when using your own third-party account.

Proforma Invoices

A proforma invoice is issued for goods that are not sold but used for customs and transport purposes only. A proforma is not a bill of sale. The commercial invoice is used for standard export sales transactions. Honey’s Place provides you this invoice on our website in an easy-to-use excel format.

Simply log into your account, click Order History, enter in your sales order number in the given field and submit.

Invoice Information: The product information provided on the commercial invoice must be in enough detail to allow the broker and customs authorities to confirm that the classification(s) of the goods are correct.

Marks and Wording: The wording/markings on the packing list should clearly match the export invoice. It should be easy for Customs to find the articles listed on the invoice among the boxes of your shipment. Each package or bundle must be marked and numbered with references that are easily identifiable on the invoice and packing list.

Country of Origin: The Country of Origin must be clearly indicated for each item on the export invoice. For NAFTA qualifying goods, the NAFTA certificate should be attached with all appropriate sections completed. The section that substantiates the reason the goods qualify as U.S., Mexican or Canadian origin is of critical importance. The country of origin markings on the units shipped must match the origin country that is stated on the invoice.

Value: The value stated must be accurate according to transaction value law. This means the price listed must be the price paid or payable plus additions for commissions, royalties, assists, packing or any proceeds of resale payable to the shipper plus freight and insurance costs.

Transaction Parties: All parties and transaction details must be clearly identified, such as shipper, importer, ultimate consignee and customs broker along with contact person name and phone number of the ultimate consignee or the ultimate receiver of the merchandise.

For more information about proforma Invoices, please contact your customs broker.

Refused/Returned Orders

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges and may be subject to a 20% restocking fee on any returned or refused orders. Refused or returned orders can be re-shipped with the customer’s approval with additional reshipping costs included. Please be aware that refused orders can cause your account to be placed on a “Prepaid Only” status.

Honey’s Place does not take responsibility for stolen, lost or damaged packages. Because packages can get lost or damaged in transit, we recommend your return packages be fully insured. We also recommend using a carrier like UPS or FedEx that provides proof of delivery for your protection.
