Honey's Place Shipping Support
Damaged Products and Shipping Claims
Received a damaged wholesale order? The correct next step depends on whether the damage is inside an undamaged shipping carton or visible on the outside of the shipment.
Use this guide to determine who to contact, when to report the damage, what documentation to keep, and how Honey's Place can assist with the claim process.
Start Here
First, Check the Outside of the Shipping Carton
The condition of the outer shipping carton determines which damage process applies.
No Outer Box Damage
Products or Packaging Are Damaged Inside
If the outer shipping carton appears undamaged but products or retail packaging inside the carton are damaged, contact your Honey's Place Account Manager within 7 days of receipt.
Outer Box Damage
The Carton Is Damaged, Opened, or Re-Taped
If the shipment has visible exterior damage, has been opened, or appears to have been re-taped, a claim must be filed with the carrier at the time of delivery.
Two Different Damage Processes
Internal Product Damage and Carrier Damage Are Not Handled the Same Way
Identifying where the damage occurred helps determine who should receive the report and what documentation may be required.
Inspect the Outer Carton
Look for crushing, tears, holes, opening, re-taping, or other visible signs of shipping damage.
Inspect the Products
Check products and retail packaging for damage even when the outside shipping carton appears intact.
Follow the Correct Claim Path
Internal damage goes to your Account Manager. Visible exterior shipping damage requires carrier documentation and a carrier claim.
Damage Inside an Undamaged Carton
What If the Products Are Damaged but the Shipping Box Is Not?
Products can occasionally move during transportation and damage product packaging even when the outside shipping carton does not show visible damage.
If products or product packaging are damaged inside the shipment and there is no visible outer-carton damage, contact your Honey's Place Account Manager within 7 days of receiving the order.
Provide clear information about the affected product, quantity, condition, and order so the issue can be reviewed.
When replacement packaging is available, Honey's Place will make every effort to provide replacement packaging.
If replacement packaging is not available, Honey's Place can assist with returning the damaged product.
Exterior Shipping Damage
What If the Shipping Carton Is Damaged, Opened, or Re-Taped?
Visible exterior damage is handled through the carrier claim process and should be documented at the time of delivery.
Inspect the Shipment
Look for visible damage, crushed areas, torn cartons, opening, additional tape, or other signs that the shipment may have been damaged during transportation.
Have the Driver Note the Damage
Make sure visible exterior damage is documented by the delivery driver when the shipment is delivered.
Start the Carrier Claim
A claim for exterior shipping damage must be filed with the carrier at the time of delivery.
Keep the Shipment Materials
Preserve the original cartons and packing materials because the carrier may require them for inspection during the claim.
Carrier Claim Documentation
What Should I Keep for a Shipping Damage Claim?
Do not discard the damaged carton or packing material until the claim has been reviewed. Keep the following information available for the carrier and Honey's Place.
